Our Extended Family

When we first started breeding we never envisioned that we would ever let any of our cats live anywhere else but with us, but there are occasions, and only when in the best interest of the cats, that tough decisions need to be made for the harmony and balance in our multicat household, and for the individual cat. We love all our cats so very dearly we hope each and everyone of them will live with us forever.

Below is a selection of pictures of our extended family BB, Foxi, Bella our first BSH who have always lived with my parents.

This is our beautiful BB the day we collected him! he was such a

Once neutered Louie came back in the house where he was so so happy, but sadly he was hen peck by my girls, they simply would not accept him and was miserable he lost weight and was totally fed up, we were adamant that we wanted a home for him when he could be lavished and have other cat attention as he loved the company of other cats even though my girls had been so mean to him all he wanted to do was headbutt and love them, so when Amana and Paul who have Hagrid a beautiful Maincoon contacted me, we invited them to visit, once we met them we knew they would give Louie the very special home we wanted for him.

As you can see he has settled very well indeed.

Candy is such a wonderful mother, 2 litters of 8 and her final litter of 9, sadly only 6 surviving from a C-Section we had her spayed at the same time, once neutered we hoped Candy would be more accepting in a group of cats, but that was not to be, Candy is a terribly dominant cat when in a group of more then 2

My sister, brother-in-law and niece had wanted a kitten from me for a long time, they only live in the next village and so after agonising over what to do for the best we did what was best for Candy and not what made us feel better and just before xmas 2009 we let Candy go and live with them, and she has honestly never been happier, we didn't realise at the time but Candy had become very quiet and withdrawn, she was always so loving and social, and now she lives as an only cat it is like she is a kitten again! she is so happy and relaxed she has the full run of the house and is in heaven.

We get to see her whenever we want to and she really is in the lap of luxury adore by all the family

As you can see she is VERY relaxed living at my sisters!!!

Probably the hardest choice we have ever made though and one were still coming to terms with was letting Angel go, Angel is just the light of my life, but because she has her mother dominance when with more then 2 we had to segregate the house into 3 sections and when we had kittens it proved unmanageable and unfair to be ongoing.

We knew angel would bond with another cat instantly provided it was just one other, so when Cheryl and Mark, who own Poppy from our very first litter, contacted us just before xmas asking about getting another cat, as they had expressed interest a year previous, it was fate we knew their home would be second to none.

She has settled very well as you will see from the pics, angel now gets all the attention she carved, I miss her kisses every day

Our Other Pets

If you have read about us you will know what an emphatic animal lover I am. I have always had animals around me, cats, dogs, a hamster and a horse for 5 years, so when I moved out of home for the first time at 18 years old it was a big shock to my system to have no pets in my life.

I found it actually terribly hard and try as I might I had a large void to fill, so in Summer 2001 Matthew agreed to let me get a pet, he was set against getting a small animal as he said hamsters and rats were too fast and he wasn't keen on them and a rabbit would be inappropriate as we lived on a second floor maisonette, but when a chinchilla was suggested to us it sounded the perfect pet.

And he was! the same month we brought home Smudge a wilson white chinchilla.

Chinchillas are wonderful pets, they are low maintenance, hardy, affectionate, nocturnal and so so characteristic. We found them so wonderful and addictive we began to research more into the breed and found the chinchilla club, the National Chinchilla Society , we visited their shows and INSTANTLY got the bug, we were fortunate to buy very good animals in the beginning as one of the best breeders in the country was retiring we had her animals and what a foundation they have been for us!

We very quickly become top reputable breeders consistently winning high awards at every show we attend. It was been 7 years of hard work and a lot of heart ache along the way but we are immensely proud for what we have done in our short time of contributing to the quality of chinchillas in the UK.

Chinchillas come in a wonderful array of colours the main colour and where all the quality comes from is the Standard grey, pictured below is my Reserve and double Grand Show Champion home bred male.

Other colours include, wilson white, pink white, black velvet, ebony, violet, sapphire, tan and beige but to name a few (I have tried to show a selection below).

We no longer breed or own chinchillas, but they are still hold a very large place in our hearts.
